Body and Soul Festival

Artistic Director for Soul Kids; the family area for the Body and Soul Festival (2012-2013), and the Electric Picnic (2013). This role required setting the artistic direction, connecting with artists, story tellers and performers, designing brochures, organising all volunteers, compiling schedules, managing budgets, adhering to health & safety, child protection, leading the production, and complete project management of the Soul Kids area.
My vision for Soul Kids was to create a nature inspired, visually stimulating, interactive and family friendly area. A creatively vibrant and relaxing space for both children and their families. Soul Kids was a place of discovery, complete with weaving and drawing walls, sensory panels, sandpit, magical happenings, treasure trails, fairy trails, visual art workshops, creative recycling challenges, musical performances, fancy dress costumes and theatrics, pop-up acts, balloon sculpture, stilt walkers, storytellers, theatre performances, dancing, yoga, relaxation, a teepee village, art installations, and a toddlers area complete with baby change facilities.
